Performance of LINIT U-profiled glass

Solar control

The LINIT "solex" solar control coating on the inside of the exterior glass unit
provides highly-effective protection against undesirable solar radiation.
With sandblasted LINIT U-profiled glass, the light is entirely broken and diffused
thanks to the frosting effect, with the result that, by contrast to specific light per-
meability, no clear contours will occur. Of particular advantage to the installer is a
newly-developed production process, which provides the sand-blasted surfaces
with even greater protection against potentially damaging influences.
The concept of transparent heat insulation (LINIT TWD) can also be modified in
such a way that the capillary insert (TIM) introduced between the LINIT U-profiled
glass strips is provided with a special sun-protecting non-woven fabric, which per-
ceptibly reduces the solar energy radiation.
All the values for light transmittance and total solar energy gain may deviate within
the usual tolerance limits for cast glass.

Seasonal shading

"PRISMASOLAR" is a surface structure developed especially by Lamberts which
provides some extraordinary qualities: Thanks to its precisely-determined prisma-
tic structure, it is possible for a high proportion of the solar radiation in winter to
pass through the glazing into the interior of the building; by contrast, in summer a
high proportion of the solar radiation is reflected back to the outside. This results
in a highly efficient glazing system, thanks to the seasonal shading it provides,
as well as providing a long service life (see also our PRISMASOLAR brochure).
