9. Delivery+Storage

Delivery/Site Preparation

Delivery of the materials is carried out by road, by our specialist contractual freight for-
warders, who can provide a crane as well if the customer so requires. For deliveries with-
out a crane vehicle, the consignees are to ensure that there are adequate unloa-ding fa-
cilities available.
The way to the offloading point should always be prepared in such a way that the vehicles
can deliver the glass without incurring any damage (smoothed access ways without pot-
holes, etc.) Personnel are to take appropriate safety precautions particu-larly during un-
loading, so as to prevent damage to the material and injury to per-sonnel.
For transport overseas it is also possible for U-profiled glass to be packed in containers,
using a method especially developed by Lamberts.

Storage on site

LINIT U-profiled glass packets should be stored on a flat surface. Suitable underlays
and intermediate layers are, for example, rigid foam elements. If several packages
are stacked on top of one another, the load-bearing capacity of the ground and the in-
creasing load on the lowest layer by the weight imposed must be taken into account.
Individual units can be leaned against walls or pillars, stored upright, provided that da-
mage to the cut edges can be avoided by the use of suitable underlays, and pro-vided
that the loading capacity of the wall will not be exceeded. These principles also apply
to short-term stacking during installation.
