In 1982 the entire product range was extended once again. As well as the wire glass and ornamental glass types manu-
factured up to then, production now started of profile construction glass, a special cast glass variety in the shape of a U.
To achieve this, a second belt was installed, to which glass was transferred from the same furnace. An aluminium instal-
lation system (frame system, windows, doors, etc.), matched to the glass, was developed in co-operation with specialist
manufacturers, and to this day is still constantly being further developed and extended to meet the demands of the market.
The realisation that a whole new approach to the concept of energy utilisation was needed prompted Lamberts in 1995 to
manufacture the first ornamental solar glass in Germany, the characteristics of which make it ideally suited for use in solar
collectors and other innovative solar energy systems. Based on this success, the focus of attention was increasingly set
on efficient means of utilising solar energy, efforts which were crowned with the achievement that, as early as 1996, highly
effective solar architecture glass systems were available in the Transparent Thermal Insulation (TWD) sector.
Glasfabrik Lamberts GmbH & Co. KG remains a family concern, but now employs some 120 personnel, and is the only
private flat glass company in Europe which does not belong to some larger group. The experience gained from 110 years
of cast glass manufacture, a workforce with a family tradition, some of whom are already in the fourth generation of com-
pany members, and the very latest systems and equipment, go together to guarantee products of the very highest quality,
marketed on a national and international level. Nowhere else in Europe are all kinds of cast glass manufactured in one place.
The close ties with the region of Upper Franconia, ultra-modern manufacturing processes which respect the environment,
flexibility in making customers' wishes into a reality, and a spirit of partnership and co-operation with suppliers and clients
alike, all combine to form the foundation of the company philosophy at Glasfabrik Lamberts.
